What is the best vacuum cleaner for hardwood floors?
To start this article off, I would like to admit something. I am a neat freak. There, I said it. I like things in my condo to be neat and tidy and free of dust and pet hair on my hardwood floor.
About a week ago, I decided to throw out my old "Shark" bag less vacuum cleaner to invest in something a little more durable and effective for cleaning my hardwood floor. A looked for a vacuum that could perfectly handle carpet, linoleum and my laminate flooring without wrecking any surface.
My trip to the department store yielded several different choices in a vacuum. There were of course the large and cumbersome upright vacuums, which I had no interest for my smaller apartment, cheap stick upright vacuums and canister style bagless vacuums. My attention immediately came to a sleek looking Hoover bagless canister style vacuum. It was attractive, felt very lightweight and advertised it's versatile cleaning on multiple surfaces. I was intrigued and for the price-point of around $184, I decided to take it home for a run.
My floors at home are constantly accumulating pet hair from my cats and fluff from a white shag rug in my living area. The shag rug seems to travel around the house and often gets stuck into my carpeted bedroom and all over my hardwood floors. I couldn't wait to turn on the Hoover and get things clean again.
I was immediately impressed with the length of cord. It was perfect to plug into one outlet and use throughout my 1,000 square feet space. Turning the unit on was easy and you could tell it was powerful through the suction of the nozzle head. I put the vacuum head down and started my vacuuming routine.
Wow - is all I could think - how smooth is this? The rubber wheels on the canister and on the vacuum head were super smooth and safe on the hardwood floors. The head neatly glided above the surface and sucked up all the hair, rug remnants and pieces of food in the kitchen. I had no concerns of the head or canister scratching the floor or the walls as I went by. The Hoover Elite Cyclonic Bag less Vacuum was a dream. Well worth the investment, given all the crappy imitation "apartment" size stick vacuums I'd used in the past.
The suction lasted right through my entire apartment, the carpet looked professionally cleaned, linoleum in the bathroom clear and the hardwood like new. Looking at the bag less canister I could see everything the vacuum picked up. Eww gross - but at least I know all that stuff is now off my floors.
Getting rid of the debris is easy - just flip up the lid of the canister and dump it into the garbage. Easy as that. No bags to worry about and nothing complicated at all. I store the vacuum in a small storage space and it hardly takes up any room at all.
If you are tired of a lifeless, suction less and bad performing vacuum I think it is well worth the investment to consider this Hoover bag less cyclonic vacuum. You can even see some great deals from Amazon since I purchased mine to your right of this article. If you have pets, shedding rugs or need a new vacuum, this is definitely the best experience I've had with a Hoover.
Take it from a neat freak, this vacuum will do the job perfectly and not wreck your hardwood floors or laminate. The rubber on the wheels is an ingenious way to keep the head of the vacuum neatly floating slightly above the surface and sucking up everything in it's path.
Thanks for taking the time to read my opinion and best of luck in your vacuuming! Later.
