Do snoring chin straps help?
OK. I'll admit it. I'm a snoring person - or at least so I've been told. Most of the time I'll wake up to a kick, nudge, slap or any other imaginable way my wife could rudely awaken me. It's been a recurring issue in our relationship snoring is starting to take over.
My wife saw a product on TV, some device that slides over your chin and over your head - looks like a face long headband - and decided to order me one. Believe me, I was none too pleased to open this package when it arrived. How insulting, I thought. Then again, I guess it isn't fair of me waking her up so many nights. I was really, really, skeptical of this device and the way it looked. It is pretty funny looking. That said, we are at a point in our relationship where looks doesn't exactly matter too much in the bedroom anymore! LOL.
Well, I decided to give this chin strap a try and see what would happen. Putting it on the first night felt very awkward and somewhat uncomfortable. Nonetheless, I put it on and it almost felt soothing in a strange way as I could feel my airways open up when I turned over to go to sleep. Most nights I can feel the snoring about to start as soon as my breathing gets heavier. Well, not tonight. I was breathing as well as I could remember. Maybe this thing could work? Only time would tell.
I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm, something that hasn't happened in a very long time. I felt refreshed and like I'd had the deepest sleep I could remember. I looked over at my wife and yes, she was still sleeping. I had to wake her up and ask, "so, did it work?", "did I snore last night." She said no, I don't think you did.
I couldn't believe that we'd been letting this be an issue in our relationship this whole time and I hadn't known about this little chin strap device. It's as if I haven't REALLY slept in years. This thing sounded so gimicky like all those other as seen on tv devices, but it actually worked.
I later went on their website, I was fascinated to find out how this chin strap gadget really did its work. They explained that it gently guides your jaw into a position where air can easily go in and out of your throat and mouth etc. But you know what, I really don't care how it works, just that this thing actually did!
I believe in this so much, I even decided to write this hub about it to let you other snoring guys or gals know about it. It will set you back I think around $90 plus shipping, but I'll tell you it's way better of a solution than an expensive therapy, sleep clinic or any other mumbo jumbo you could be put through. Or worse a failing relationship with your partner.
If you're the other side of the relationship, the one being snored on, consider this snoring chin strap device. It may take a little convincing, but it really isn't that intrusive to sleeping or feeling comfortable. In fact, I wear it every night now and don't even realize I'm wearing it. I think I've been conditioned to feel sleepy and tired when I put it on. After putting it on, I'm out like a light within 10-15 minutes at night.
Sure these things are skeptical and you should be! I just wanted to get my piece out here to let you know, this snoring chin strap in particular helped me and could help you.
To find out more information on this chin strap snoring headband type thing (I don't know what else to call it) visit their main website here and learn how it works, or just get the darned thing and try it. Interesting personal account and a successful end.
Would have liked to see a pix of the strap...but will have to visit the website now.
I have known of a snorer who got a long Ace bandage and pinned it around to snugly fit around chin to top of head...and it worked too.
Thanks for sharing.
